A Girlie Card

Hello Peoples!

I think I may be on a bit of a roll - I've made some cards that I've been really happy with over the last few days, and this is one of them (although the photo doesn't give it justice really):

The image is one I won in a challenge a couple of months ago, a digi from Fred She Said - from the Little Miss Bitty set and, as I'm not good at colouring, I've paper pieced her dress. The papers are from the summer freebie My Minds Eye paper pad. The heart dies are X-cut, the ribbon was from a local cheapie store, I think the large pink fabric flowers are Dovecraft, the smaller flowers are punched from the paper pad. The sparkly gems are Papermania shimmer dots, and I luuuuuuuuv them! The sentiment is hand written, not perfect but OK!

I've followed the sketch on this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge, and I'm also entering my card in this week's Lollipop Crafts which is Glitter, Sparkle, Gems - I used stickles around the sentiment heart, and the shimmer dots are sparkly.

I've got another card to show you soon. So, see you then. Thanks for looking.

Love, Andrea xx

Doodle Divas Featured Diva

This is just a shout out about Karen's Doodles Doodle Divas weekly Featured Diva contest.

Each Friday, a Featured Diva is represented on the Doodle Divas Blog in a special slideshow. To enter to be a Featured Diva, all you have to do is submit a card, layout, or any project using a Karen's Doodles image - and there are some gorgeous images to choose from. One lucky Diva is then chosen as the Featured Diva for the week and their project is put into the Featured Diva slideshow for all to see!!! The lucky Diva also gets to choose two Karen's Doodles images for free!!!! How awesome eh?

Unfortunately, there was only one entry last week - so they are trying to spread the word. Why don't you go have a look at the past Featured Divas' work, and see if you'd like to have a go! I intend to enter again soon but have a few other projects to work on at the moment! There's just not enough time to do everything I'd like to do!

One For Two Boys

Happy Weekend!

Well, Eleri had been back at school less than a week and she'd been invited to a joint birthday party!! The party was this afternoon, and she's had another fabulous time!
So, I'll show you the two cards I made - I decided to use the same idea for both cards, but Eleri wanted them to be different, so just used different colour paper.

The image is Racing George from Dottie Downloads - I've used the pre-coloured version, and added 3D gloss to the face of his helmet. I just cut him out and have added him on the card with glue gel. The flags were downloaded from the internet. The papers are Basic Grey, matted onto some grey paper, and inked around the edge with a black ink pad. I love the tyre marks - I just rolled one of my son's toy cars through the ink pad and ran it across the paper! The gems are meant to imitate the start lights on the F1 starting grid - they don't have green any more apparently LOL!

And here's the other card

I'm entering these cards in the following challenges:

Lollipop Crafts - It's a Boy Thing!
Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes

That's it for now - see you soon.

I Love This Card ...

Hi Everyone - hope you are having a wonderful week - nearly the weekend ... yay!!

My niece is soon to be 13, and I love the card I have made for her!

Honestly, the photo doesn't do it justice - the colours do all match better irl than the photo shows! The image is a digi from Pollycrafts, called Evangeline Retro - isn't she pretty? - looks a little like my niece actually. I have printed the image twice, once onto the dp so that I could paper piece her dress - I love paper piecing for clothes (much easier than colouring!!). I'm really sorry, I can't remember what the paper is - it's been put at the back of the cupboard again and I can't be bothered to fish everything out at the moment - I'll update this post to name them when I can. The pearlescent card is from Create and Craft - it is gorgeous irl and I haven't got much left :(. The lace was part of the first candy I ever won from Tab, and this is the first time I've used it - I threaded some narrow ribbon through it. The pink flowers started off cream, and I've coloured them with promarkers.

I'm entering this card in two challenges:

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge
A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes

I do have some more cards to show you, but I'll leave that til tomorrow.

Golden Wedding Acceptance

Hello peoples - Happy Sunday - hope you're enjoying your weekend.

The card I am showing today is one I've made for my mother and father-in-law, who will be celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary in October - they'll be having a family meal in a local restaurant.

I've followed the sketch template which is in the Do Crafts Creativity! Magazine this month. I've used the Christmas Tree Embossing Folder which was free with the magazine to emboss the heart and sqare panel - proves it's useful not just for Christmas! The hearts die is an X-Cut one, and the sentiment was created on the computer. I am wondering whether to swipe around the edges of the card with ink and then emboss with gold powder - can't decide!

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes

Southern Girls Challenge - Their first challenge which is Anything Goes

I'm trying to come up with simple Christmas card ideas at the moment that I can use for batch cards - nothing too inspired happened yet so I can just see me buying cards from charity shops again this year! Also got lots of birthdays coming up, so hope to have some more cards to show you soon.

Such a Sweetie!

Well Hello - it's been a while!

I have finally got around to doing some crafting and blogging. This is a birthday card I've made for someone who would not really appreciate lots of flowers or bling, so it's fairly simple - but I still like it.

The image is a digi by SJ's Little Musings - I've left it as is because it reminds me of a West Highland White dog (I hope that's how you spell it!) - there's faux stitching around the image. The papers are a download from the Crafts Beautiful website. The lacy ribbon was on a pack I found in a local cheap store - it's perfect for this paper. The flower is a punched flower, with a flower gem added to the centre.
I am entering this in the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - the sketch I've followed
Crafty Sentiments - use a digi image

That's it for now - I really ought to be in bed! I do have some other cards ready to show you, so I hope you will call by again soon.
